Dear Passenger:

The Sawyer International Airport, formerly the K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, provides commercial airline service to over 50 percent of all airline travel to and from Michigan’s Greater Upper Peninsula. In an effort to establish a long-term plan for the future development of the airport, Marquette County, owners and operators of the airport, along with the Federal Aviation Administration Detroit Airports District Office (FAA-ADO), and the Michigan Department of Transportation Airports Division (MDOT AERO) have elected to undertake a study to create a master plan for the airport. This study will address numerous areas of interest which have a bearing on the management and development of the airport in the future.

In order to better serve the traveling public, the Airport Master Plan Project Team (Project Team) is seeking information from both arriving and departing passengers as part of the Master Plan Study. This information will help shape the future of aviation services at the airport, allowing the airport to better serve, meet and to exceed the needs and expectations of the traveling public.
